This is the first post in a recurring series dedicated to keeping residents and business owners informed. The posts will focus on need-based assistance, services, business development groups, volunteer opportunities, and much more. It won’t be possible to post about every service or assistance opportunity, but there will be a diligent effort to provide timely information and a willingness to accept tips and input from community members which may be shared on the site.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is the world’s largest and most impactful fundraising event to end cancer. It unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Today, with the support of thousands of volunteers like you, the American Cancer Society is helping save more than 400 lives a day. And we won’t stop until we finish the fight against cancer! Please join us!
Having lost several family members to differing forms of cancer, Bryan understands the impact of the disease, as well as what organizations such as The American Cancer Society can have for research, treatment, survivors and families. During high school, Bryan served on a planning and organization team for a flagship program focused on youth/teenage Relay for Life events. While in college, he worked with a local ACS office to develop programs with area high schools. Now, Bryan participates in Relay events and continues a long-standing tradition of lighting luminaries for family members lost to cancer including his father, an uncle, an aunt, and a cousin as well as several other family members and friends who are in remission or survivors.
